MAKE SURE YOUR PET IS PROPERLY IDENTIFIED

Be sure your pet is properly identified. You may think your companion will never leave your side, but you cannot guess how an animal will react in unfamiliar territory.

For instance, be aware of the fireworks show, and note the time and location. We once witnessed a dog who was suddenly startled by the onset of the fireworks. It took off running through Victoria Park and up to the busy streets above. The owners, who did not speak English, were frantic. Luckily, the Niagara Parks Police witnessed what had happened, offered their assistance, and eventually found the dog unharmed.

Bring your pets up-to-date immunization record with you to present at the border. They don't always ask for it, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

PET FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES

You can take your pet with you to view the Falls and the scow. Make sure they are leashed and you must stoop and scoop. Not only is there a by-law that can be enforced, but it's just plain courteous.
